Despite all obstacles for homecoming: it still went off well.

Spring concert harder draw – people are busy, especially for music teachers.
Joyn would like to make tangible donation to UW to show were a real organization.

UWABA Phone conference meeting from September 25th, 2007
Approved minutes as posted to the web site.
Officer reports:
- the homecoming truck is all set up, he will call a few days ahead to confirm times and ticket needs
- Jerry has set up a 6-pack group to play at the Air Force game on the 20th of Oct. Asked Tommy if he would need a game ticket and Tommy said that he could come for the gig, but would have to return home to do some major pattootie kissing prior to an out of town trip.

- The parade application is finished, will pick up the 2 game tickets this week, decorations and candy/jerky to throw from the float have been purchased. We should be well within our stated budget of $250 that was to include the gift for the Belser's, float decorations and tickets for the truck driver. We have over $500 in our account currently.

(double attendance from 2006 concert).

Action items:
Megan volunteers to draft letter to Alumni with Homecoming info.
We'll keep it generic, give Tommy's info, to get ahead of things.
New Alumni Jackets / We'll see how much interest the info letter generates
before we place the order
Jerry makes motion to allocate up to $250 for Homecoming gifts for Belsers,
Truck driver(plaque, gift certificate and football tickets), and goodies to
throw from the float. Justin seconds. Motion passes
Either Tommy or Justin will contactd Dooley Oil –
need to confirm they are donating the use of the truck for the parade.
Gotta line up KKPsi & TBS for homecoming morning breakfast
Tommy will have Rene talk to Belser ---Email so that Belser invites all
Seniors to Belser's Party the eve of Homecoming

Old business
Call campaign was a painful flop; UW is the only entity allowed to solicit alumni. They agreed to make calls for us, but then the person in charge left things unknown. Now we need a new connection: back to square one. Renee will try to work her local mojo.
Also, rumor ran though the AD that we were soliciting money from alumni.
Plan is to use Robbie at the Alumni House and try again.

Christ taylor to become new UW Liason
Jerry on look out for playing gigs in the area.
Wind Ensemble April is main initiative near term.
Renee/Tommy - drafting letter to Alumni to generate more interest in the April concert.

Oct. 13th, 2006
UWABA Annual HOMECOMING Meeting
The meeting was called to order rather loudly at 8:11pm
by President Reddicks. There was no old business.
New Business:
Big push to get people here next year; encouraged everyone to contact
alums that they know and help get the attendance numbers up.
Dooley Oil – are donating the use of the truck for the parade.
Have a plaque, gift certificate and football tickets for them as a thank you.
They have expressed interest is being our truck on an annual basis.
Dr. Belser & Myra were showered with Thank You gifts in appreciation
of their undying support of UWABA over the years.
Business cards with the website address were distributed.
Elections:
The seats held by Joyn, Megan & Bill are up for election.
Nominations from the floor were taken:
Joyn, Megan, Bill, Renee, Jeff and Chris Taylor.
Sara moved and Joyn seconded to close nominations.
Voting was done via official UWABA ballots
– additional ballots will be accepted at the morning rehearsal
and then counted before the game.
Filling the 3 spots for the next two years are: Megan, Joyn and Renee.
Dues are a suggested donation of $15 and can be paid to Megan.
We still have jackets left from last year and they are $30.
These can also be purchased from Megan.

MAL(Jerry) – no response given so far for history of band, no progress. Jerry will continue to work on as info comes in.
Chris Taylor “maybe†interested in starting a group in Salt Lake City
Renee – Sunday 9 April is Wind Ensemble concert if we want to play
Unfinished business- placing Justin into an office- Justin placed into Secretary.
New Officer positions are as follows:

Confusion of “Board†and “Board of Directors†in the By Laws Tommy and Jonathan will investigate the situation and report
Jerry is arranging a song “Powder River†for the 6-Pack. Hopefully will be unveiled this spring. Go Jerry, you rock.

Alumni List is out and will be placed on the “WAYN†Sight
Spring Concert- Jonathan/Tommy will lead getting people to play in the concert- via mailer/email/whatever options
For concert- possible rehearsal on Saturday at 4:30, dinner to follow.
Concert call at 2:15 and show at 3pm
Jonathan and Renee will check on dinner location reservations.
